Earlier this year, you couldn’t scroll through your FYP without spotting an influencer doing a GRWM in Poppi’s iconic purple bathrobe. Then came the pink sweatsuit, which quickly earned its place as every influencer’s most-wanted PR package. Poppi didn’t just gift PR packages; they created cultural moments. Here’s how Poppi mastered the art of PR gifting in 2024 and what other brands can learn from them to level up their strategies in 2025.

1. Make it feel exclusive

Poppi’s pink sweatsuit wasn’t just merch; it was a badge of honor. By carefully curating their gifting list, they made recipients feel like they’d “made it” in the industry. This exclusivity turned the sweatsuit into the influencer uniform, creating demand not just among creators, but also among their audiences.

2. Gift products that people will actually use

Another one of Poppi’s standout packages was their “Summer Soda Roster.” An inflatable cooler stocked with a 12-pack of their most popular flavors wasn’t just on-brand and visually appealing; it was practical. Creators could use the cooler for summer gatherings and pool parties, ensuring the gift was not only memorable – but also functional. Meanwhile, the pink sweatsuit came packaged up in a packing cube. By focusing on quality over quantity, Poppi avoided the trap of sending items that end up as clutter, showing that thoughtful, reusable gifts can make a bigger impact.

3. Create merch that’s cute and recognizable – but not overly branded

Poppi has mastered the art of cute, branded merch. They create fun, recognizable pieces that aren’t overly branded. They’ve leaned into trends like this summer’s boxer shorts craze and created pieces influencers actually want to wear. The key? Subtlety. By designing pieces that fit seamlessly into creators’ wardrobes rather than plastering their logo everywhere, Poppi ensured their merch appeared in everyday content, turning creators into ongoing brand ambassadors.

4. Create fun and shareable experiences

For the launch of the orange cream and lemon lime flavors, Poppi sent creators boxes containing two “mystery” flavors in silver cans adorned with question marks. Recipients filmed themselves trying the mystery flavors and making guesses as to which flavors they were, which created a fun and interactive experience as their followers joined in on the guessing game. 

5. Lean into seasonal gifting

For the holiday season, Poppi brought back their limited-edition Cranberry Fizz flavor. To mark the occasion, they sent creators festive PR packages featuring four-packs of the seasonal soda—perfect for regifting to friends and family. The cherry on top? They also included a cute pair of satin PJs, perfect for Christmas morning. 

As we head into 2025, remember: influencer gifting isn’t just about sending a package—it’s about creating a moment that people want to be a part of.
